Swedish
Swedish Massage stimulates the skin and nervous system and soothes the nerves themselves at the same time. It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested on a regular basis for stress management. The therapist uses slow and gentle hand strokes with light to moderate/deep pressure depending on what your body needs.

Deep Tissue
Deep Tissue massage aids in the recovery of injured or strained muscles and promotes greater flexibility, breaking up scar tissue and the bonds between connective tissues. Deep tissue is especially helpful in releaving muscle soreness. Deep tissue and deep PRESSURE are not the same thing.

Sports Massage
This techniques focus is to prepare athletes for upcoming events and to assist in the body's healing and recuperation afterwards. The therapist achieves this through specialized manipulation of the muscle tissue that is in charge of stimulating the circulation of blood and oxygen through the muscles.

Ashiatsu
Ashiatsu, (ashi means foot and atsu means pressure), is an ancient form of bodywork first used by Buddhist monks.
The therapist supports herself with wooden bars suspended from the ceiling while applying different foot strokes along the body. This is considered a VERY deep pressure massage using the pressure of the therapist's feet on strategic points along the back and spine.

Hot Stone
Hot Stone massage is a technique brought to us by native american traditions. Using smooth, heated basalt stones the therapist places the stones on specific acupressure points on the body to melt away knots, tension and stress. Hot stone massage is said to relieve pain, & to promote harmony, balance and peace.

Trigger Point Therapy
Is not a relaxing, spa like technique. It is used to treat chronic pain resulting from muscular, or soft tissue problems. It requires the participation of the client to communicate the presence and intensity of pain and discomfort (using a scale from 1-10, one being nothing and 10 being the worst pain ever). The therapist and client must work together as a team to maximize the effectiveness of the treatment. It is common to find much improvement after one treatment. Repeated treatment may be necessary for those with chronic trigger points. Homework may be required.
